How to switch to the new central unit (2nd. generation):

You can still use your familiar user name and password.
During the switch-over to the new central unit, no devices, scenarios or settings are transferred. You will have to integrate your devices and create your scenarios again.

To complete the switch-over, proceed as follows:

  1. Log in as usual to your central unit (first-generation) using your SmartHome app .

  2. In Google Play or Apple’s App Store, check whether you are using the latest version of the innogy SmartHome app.
  3. In the menu, go to Settings and select Reset central unit.

    Note that all your settings will be permanently deleted!

    After a few minutes, you will receive an e-mail confirming that the central unit has been reset.

  4. Switch off and unplug the first-generation central unit. You will no longer need this.

  5. Connect your innogy SmartHome central unit (second-generation) via LAN cable to your Internet router and establish the power supply using the power pack included in delivery.
    Then wait until the LED on the PAIR button starts to flash green.

  6. On the app’s homescreen, log in with your usual login details.

  7. Follow the steps in the app. For full functionality, enter the SmartCode, which you can find on the top of the packaging (under the slipcase).

  8. You now have to integrate your existing innogy SmartHome devices again. To do so, reset each device individually. You can find an overview of the devices here .

  9. Likewise, you will have to create all your scenarios again. Use this process as an opportunity to optimise your programming.

  10. You will also have to re-register all partner devices such as Netatmo or Philips Hue on the central unit.

Just a few more important tips:

  • Before you switch over, use your smartphone to take photos of important settings on your old central unit or take screenshots directly on your smartphone (on Android phones, you can usually do this by pressing the home button and side button simultaneously).

  • Think about which devices and scenarios you will need first and which can wait until later.

  • Reset and reintegrate each device individually, room by room.
