Installation and commissioning
Prior to installation, make a note of the serial number (12 digits underneath the barcode) in the battery compartment and the exact location of installation. You will need this later on for integrating the device in your SmartHome system.
To reduce the risk of accidentally triggering the system, the motion detector (interior) must not be exposed to direct sunlight, car headlamps etc., nor must it be installed close to any source of heat (e.g. above a radiator). The detection ranges should be aligned on a wall or the floor, but not directly onto windows, heaters or other sources of heat.
The motion detector (interior) is equipped with a wall bracket and is designed to be wall-mounted. The motion detector (interior) can be rotated through an angle of ±70 degrees in the wall bracket. This means that the detection range can be adjusted at almost any angle to the wall and also corrected as necessary after the detector has been installed. Locate a suitable point at which to install the motion detector (interior) in the room you want to be monitored. Please refer to the information provided in the previous sections. We recommend an installation height of approximately 2 metres for optimum coverage.
Installing the wall bracket
When choosing the installation location and drilling close to existing switches or sockets, pay close attention to the course of electrical lines and existing supply lines.
Proceed as follows for installation of the motion detector (interior):
