Preparation

The radiator thermostat can be installed without the need to drain heating water or intervene in the heating system. Special tools are not required, nor does the heating need to be switched off.

The union nut fitted on the radiator thermostat can be used universally and is suitable for use with any valve with a thread dimension of M30 x 1.5 mm from all major manufacturers without any accessories.

In some manufacturers’ valves, the part of the valve that extends into the device has only a small diameter, which results in a loose fit.

In this case, the attached support ring (in Fig. A) should be inserted into the device’s flange prior to installation.

Installation and commissioning

1. Remove old thermostat
  • Turn the thermostat all the way to the left. (A).
  • Turn the union nut to the left until you can remove it from the thread (B).
  • Remove the thermostat from the valve. (C).
3. Screw on union nut
  • Screw the union nut onto the valve with an M30 x 1.5 mm connection thread. Note: The union nut can be used universally and is suitable for use with any valve with a thread dimension of M30 x 1.5 mm from all major manufacturers without any accessories.
  • Adapters are included for Danfoss RA, RAV and RAVL valves. To find out how the adapters are mounted on the valves, visit this page.
2. Insert batteries
  • Lift the tab on the back of the device and remove the cover from the battery compartment.
  • Insert the two supplied batteries (type AA) into the battery compartment, ensuring the correct polarity.
  • Place the cover back on so that the fastening audibly clicks back into place.
4. Attach thermostat While 'PREP' is shown on the display, the control pin for the valve is fully retracted. 'INST' will then appear on the display.
  • White plastic union nut: Only now should you push the radiator thermostat firmly onto the union nut until it audibly clicks into place.
  • Gold metal union nut: Only now should you screw the radiator thermostat hand-tight to the radiator valve.
  • A support ring is provided for valves with a smaller diameter. Insert this ring into the device flange prior to installation.
5. Start self-adjustment
  • Once installation is complete, press the OK button on the device to start the self-adjustment process. While this is taking place, 'ADAP' will appear on the display.
  • Once the adjustment process is complete, the set temperature will be displayed briefly. The display will then go off.
6. Integrate device
  • Press the MENU button until 'PAIR' appears on the display and confirm by pressing OK.
  • If 'JOIN' flashes, press OK again.
The device will now enter search mode for 90 seconds. As soon as the device has been found by your SmartHome system, 'OK' will appear.
